Boiled Peanuts for a Crowd

Ingredients

1 32-lb. bag green peanuts
32 oz. salt, or to taste

Instructions

Place peanuts and salt in a large pot and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 hour; taste for doneness. When done, turn off heat and leave peanuts in pot to absorb salt and liquid. Tips: An outdoor fish cooker works well for boiling large batches of peanuts. The Lowes use cow salt, available at feed stores, to reduce cost. When boiling smaller amounts of peanuts, check for doneness after 45 minutes.
