Hot Sauce for Preserving



2 (32-oz.) bottles catsup
1 qt. applesauce
4 onions, chopped
1 pint hot peppers, chopped
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups vinegar
2 T. paprika
2 T. pickling spice (tie in bag)


Combine all ingredients in pot. Cook slowly until mixture thickens, stirring often. Remove spice bag and pour into hot, sterilized jars. Seal. Makes 8 to 9 pints.
