Chocolate Pie with Butter Crust

Pie Filling: 2 T. cocoa 1 1/2 cups sugar Scant 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup milk 3 egg yolks 1/2 stick margarine 1 tsp. vanilla extract Butter Crust: 1 stick margarine, melted 1 1/2 cups flour Never-fail Meringue: 1 T. cornstarch 2 T. cold water 1/2 cup boiling water 3 egg whites 6 T. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract Pinch of salt


Pie Filling: Combine ingredients except vanilla; cook until thick and bubbly (will thicken very quickly). Add vanilla and whisk until smooth. Pour into cooked Butter Crust pie shell (below). When cooled, top with Never-fail Meringue (below). Butter Crust: Mix margarine and flour. Pat into pie pan. Bake at 350 degrees. Do not over-brown; if too brown, the butter will taste burned.
