Caramel Pound Cake

1 cup butter 1/2 cup shortening 1 box light brown sugar 1 cup sugar 6 eggs 3 cups unsifted flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla 1 cup evaporated milk 1 cup chopped pecans Frosting: 1 cup light brown sugar 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup evaporated milk 1 stick margarine 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup chopped pecans


Cream butter and shortening until creamy; gradually add sugars and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour with baking powder and salt sifted together. Add vanilla and evaporated milk, then the pecans. Bake in a greased and floured Bundt pan at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until done. Frosting: Combine sugars, milk, margarine and vanilla in a saucepan and bring to a rolling boil. Boil 2 minutes. Cool. Stir in nuts. Spread on cake.
