Creole Shrimp and Biscuits

Fish and Seafood

1 lb. medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
Creole seasoning
1 (12-oz.) can flaky-style biscuits
1 small onion, diced
1/2 Tbsp. minced garlic
1 (14-oz.) can chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 Tbsp. flour
6 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. hot sauce
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. salt

Rinse shrimp; season to taste with Creole seasoning. Cook biscuits according to directions on package. While biscuits cook, place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic; cook until onion starts to brown. Add chicken broth and shrimp; cook 8 minutes to reduce slightly. Reduce heat to simmer; stir in cream and flour to thicken. Turn off heat; add bacon, cheese and Creole seasoning to taste. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, hot sauce, pepper and salt. Stir to mix well. Serve hot in a bowl with a biscuit on top, or serve the biscuit open-faced topped with Creole Shrimp.
