Amateur photographers get to show off their work in our "Picture This" feature. We invite readers to submit photos relating to a specific theme each quarter. We select a few of the best photos for publication in Today in Mississippi's January, April, July and October issues. We will publish a few of the most eye-catching photos that best illustrate the given theme from among those submitted. Photographers whose work is selected for publication will be entered in a random drawing for $200 cash, to be awarded in December.

Our next "Picture This" photo theme is:

April 2009 issue: I Made It Myself. Send a creative photo of something you've made—big or small. Include yourself (or another person) in the photo, using or posing your creation. Photos must be e-mailed or postmarked by March 6, 2009.

Photo submission guidelines:

"Picture This" is open to amateur photographers only of any age.

Photos eligible for publication must relate to the given theme. Submit print or digital photos either color or black and white. Submit as many photos as you like, but select only your best work.

Photos must be in sharp focus. Digital photos should be unenhanced, high-resolution files. Photos that have a date stamp cannot be used.

Include photographer's name, address, phone and name of electric power association. Provide the names of all recognizable people in your photo and feel free to share details such as location, etc.

Prints will be returned if accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

E-mail submissions (as an attachment) to news@epaofms.com or mail to Picture This, Today in Mississippi, P.O. Box 3300, Ridgeland, MS 39158-3300.
