The Farmhouse Kitchen: Summertime is grilling time

Ingredients
- 1 angel food cake
- 1 large box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 can pie filling — cherry, strawberry, peach, or blueberry
- 2-3 bananas, sliced thinly
- 1 large can pineapple chunks, drained
- 1 large tub Cool Whip, thawed (or as much as needed)
Who doesn’t like a pretty dessert? A quick summer take-along, or a light addition to your summer outdoor gatherings.
Directions
Prep your ingredients: Pinch the cake into small pieces. Make the pudding according to package directions. Slice the bananas thinly. Drain pineapple chunks.
In a pretty trifle bowl, or another glass serving bowl, layer half the cake chunks. Top with half the pudding mix spreading evenly. Plop the pie filling around the outside edges, and fill the center area with half the bananas and pineapple chunks. Top with half the Cool Whip. Repeat layers. Cover and chill for a couple of hours or overnight.
