Barb’s Apple Pie

Ingredients

5 Granny Smith apples Sugar 1 stick butter Cinnamon Nutmeg; Pie crust: 1 1/3 cup Wondra flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup Crisco shortening 1/2 tsp. cornstarch 3 to 4 T. ice water Flour; Pie topping: 1 cup apple juice 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 T. cornstarch Cinnamon

Instructions

Peel, core and slice apples. Put small amount of water and apples into pan. Add sugar to taste and cook until tender; set aside. Prepare pie crust (recipe below). Sprinkle sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg on crust, and dot with 1/2 stick of butter. Add apples. Sprinkle with spices, to taste. Make lattice top with strips of dough. Lightly sprinkle with sugar and nutmeg. Dot with the remaining butter. Bak
