Pontotoc Electric Power Association General Manager Frankie Moorman was recently named the first recipient of the Russell Hustle Award.
Moorman accepted the award at the Tupelo-based Central Service Association User Education Conference in early July.
The award was presented to Moorman for his leadership during Winter Storm Fern.
During the storm, just under 89% of Pontotoc’s system experienced outages. Moorman went on Facebook daily to give members video updates on power restoration efforts.
The award was named in honor of the late Danny Russell, a retired general manager at the Central Service Association and a board member for North East Mississippi Electric Power Association.
The Central Service Association was formed in 1937 to assist electric utilities with billing and finances.
