Mississippi, Mississippi, I love you so.
Although I came here just a short time ago.
I was running from Florida with all its storms,
and Mississippi welcomed me with open arms.
The people are wonderful, kind, and sweet,
And they’re helpful, everyone you meet.
It was hard leaving my home of 53 years.
I did so with sadness and many tears.
But now I’m settled in a lovely place,
And I usually have a smile on my face,
because Mississippi is now my happy place!
